‘Despicable Me 3’ Trailer 3: Gru Becomes A Villain Again

A new Despicable Me 3 trailer has been released online. Gru and the crew (sorry!) is back with his minions, and this time they are joined by Gru’s long lost twin brother who I hope isn’t the film’s ultimate antagonist.

I’ll be completely honest, I’m no big Minion fan but enjoyed the first two Despicable Me movies a lot. Minions (2015) however, was a pure cash grab attempt and nowhere near as good as its predecessors. The main culprit of this was the idea of making the minions the centre of the film and relying entirely on their gags.

Despicable Me 3 however, won’t be following the suit. Trailer 3 is exactly what it needs to be: FUNNY! It makes a great case of why you should be checking this movie out this summer.

The film is directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, co-directed by and written by Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio. The voice cast features Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Miranda Cosgrove, Dana Gaier, Nev Scharrel, and Russell Brand.

Despicable Me 3 hits theatres on June 30th, 2017.

Here’s the official plot synopsis for the film:

The team who brought you Despicable Me and the biggest animated hit1s of 2013 and 2015, Despicable Me 2 and Minions, returns to continue the adventures of Gru, Lucy, their adorable daughters—Margo, Edith and Agnes—and the Minions. Despicable Me 3, directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, co-directed by Eric Guillon, and written by Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio, will be released in theaters on June 30, 2017.
