The second trailer for Christopher Nolan‘s Dunkirk has been released online. The film tells the story of British soldiers who are surrounded by the Nazis in the city of Dunkirk, France and their eventual rescue, a major point in the Second World War.
The film has earned a PG-13 rating, somewhat crushing most people’s expectations, but Nolan, just like he did in The Dark Knight, keeps the moments intense and chilling. The fear and desperation of the troops are showing, and with no apparent way to go home, they’re ready to fight until the end.

Reteaming with Nolan is cinematographer Hoyte Van Hoytema who worked with the director on his sci-fi original Interstellar. The film is entirely shot with a combination of 65mm film and the 70 mm IMAX cameras. Also returning is composer Hans Zimmer who will be collaborating with Nolan for the sixth time since Batman Begins in 2005.
The cast of the film is packed with talent and boasts of Oscar nominees like Tom Hardy and Kenneth Branagh, Oscar winner Mark Rylance, and the very talented Cillian Murphy. The film also stars Aneurin Barnard, James D’Arcy, Jack Lowden, Barry Keoghan, Tom Glynn-Carney, and One Direction band member Harry Styles.
Dunkirk will open in theatres on July 21, 2017.
