And so will you be after watching it. Adapted from the popular indie film of the same name, Dear White People is now a series on Netflix that satirizes the racial discourse in a “post-racism” America.
Of course, racism is a very broad topic and the show mainly seems to cover race relations between black people and white people in a majority white Ivy League school.

The original movie was written and directed by Justin Simien who will also be directing an episode of the adaptation. Director Barry Jenkins, who co-wrote and directed Academy Award-winning movie Moonlight (2016) will also be directing an episode. The show stars Logan Browning as Sam White (the original role was filled by Tessa Thompson of Marvel fame). Other cast include Marque Richardson, Antoinette Robertson, Ashley Blaine Featherson, Brandon P Bell, and John Patrick Amedori.
The show premieres on Netflix on April 28, 2017.
