Before the flood, there was An Inconvenient Truth.
Al Gore‘s tireless fight against Climate Change was recorded and documented by director David Guggenheimer back in 2006. The movie that released in 2007, received severe backlash from climate change deniers. The films ominous warnings and chilling depiction of melting snow caps, rising sea levels and predictions of the ramifications were all brushed off as scare tactics.
Ten years later, Al Gore -who refers to himself as the ex-POTUS– has returned to warn us again of the impact that human-enhanced climate change has on the planet. The trailer has some ironic images of the current POTUS, Donald Trump denying the existence of climate change, famously saying,
It’s supposed to be 70 degrees today, it’s freezing here. Speaking of global warming -where is?-we need global warming. It’s freezing.
An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth To Power seeks to highlight how there have been slight efforts in the past to reverse the effect of climate change by governments and nations. However, there is an imminent danger to the planet is a very callous attitude towards climate change is adopted.

In the movie, Al Gore points out that An Inconvenient Truth was criticized mainly for predicting that the rise in sea levels would flood the World Trade Center Memorial.
He goes on to say that future generations would hold all of us accountable for our actions- or lack thereof – by explicitly using the words “Mother Nature” and “screaming” in the same sentence.
He also warns of getting rid of the delusion that we’re going to “live on Mars”.
The movie premieres on July 28, 2017, and is directed by Boni Cohen and Jon Shenk.
