Zac Efron And Dwayne Johnson Turn Detectives In New ‘Baywatch’ Trailer

Paramount has released a new trailer for Baywatch. The movie stars Dwayne Johnson as Mitch Buchannon, a disciplined and conscientious lifeguard, devoted to protecting those on and off shore. Coupled with a brash and reckless recruit, Matt Brody (Zac Efron), Buchannon is presented with the challenge of protecting the bay against the background of a budget crisis and devious murdering criminals.

The trailer begins in the same way the previous ones did, with a monologue by The Rock. We’ve already seen Efron and Johnson going back and forth often and the trailer serves more of that. Both of them have to eventually set aside their differences to find out what the heck is going on?

We also see the more fun elements of the film and some cool action sequences being teased throughout. Last but not the least, some more moments of Priyanka Chopra playing the villain Victoria Leeds. Things seem to be shaping out well for Baywatch and we may be looking at our first big summer blockbuster of the year.

Baywatch is set to release on May 26, 2017, and is directed by Seth Gordon who has also directed comedies such as Horrible Bosses (2011) and Identity Thief (2013). The movie also stars Alexandra Daddario as Summer, Jon Bass as Ronnie, Kelly Rohrbach as CJ Parker, and Ilfenesh Hadera as Stephanie Holden.

Here’s the official plot synopsis for the film:

BAYWATCH follows devoted lifeguard Mitch Buchannon (Johnson) as he butts heads with a brash new recruit (Efron). Together, they uncover a local criminal plot that threatens the future of the Bay.
