Thor: Ragnarok Synopsis Reveals Thor will Battle Hulk

Marvel has basically confirmed something fans were probably dying to see ever since we saw Hulk playfully punching Thor in that one small film called The Avengers (2012). The studio recently released a new plot synopsis for their upcoming effort Thor: Ragnarok, the third Thor film.

There were already speculations that the film will have some parts of Planet Hulk in it and the synopsis basically confirms it. Planet Hulk deals with the green giant shooting himself into space after seeing that he’s a threat to earth. Sounds familiar? He then crashes on the planet Sakaar where he is enslaved and made to fight in the gladiator pits. While we may see similarities to the comic run, I do not expect the film to dedicate much time to this storyline as there are other world-threatening events at hand.

Here’s the full synopsis released by Marvel:

In Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk

The studio also released a new set image of Director Taika Watiti and star Chris Hemsworth.

News also broke out that Benedict Cumberbatch‘s Doctor Strange will have a sizeable role in the film, more than a simple cameo thanks to Disney’s own D23 fansite. Hulk, Thor, and Strange all in one film, now that’s a Marvel movie I’m highly excited for!

Thor: Ragnarok stars  Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Sir Anthony Hopkins as OdinMark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Karl Urban as Skurge.

The film will hit theaters on November 3, 2017.
