Another day and another news from the DC Extended Universe drops. In an exclusive report, Deadline stated that Patrick Wilson has been cast in Aquaman (2018) as Orm, the half brother of the King of Atlantis. Orm later goes on to become the Ocean Master, an adversary of Aquaman.
The casting news was confirmed by none other than the director of the project, James Wan. Wan tweeted :

Wilson is of course no stranger to both the superhero genre or the DCEU. He previously cameoed in Batman v Superman as the President of the U.S. He previously worked with Snyder in Watchmen (2009) where he played Night Owl II. Wan and Wilson have together worked on both Insidious and The Conjuring series of horror film and hence the choice makes a lot of sense.
For those who don’t know much about the Orm, the character is the half brother of Aquaman a.k.a. Arthur Curry, and in the current continuity is a pure Atlantean compared to Arthur who is half human. The dynamic between the two can be considered similar to that of Loki and Thor who are another pair of superpowered gods at war.
Amber Heard will play Mera, the Queen of Atlantis in the film. Jason Momoa will be back as the King of Atlantis along with Willem Dafoe as Vulko in the upcoming Justice League film next year.
Aquaman hits theaters on October 5, 2018.
