7 Minutes of Chris Nolan’s ‘Dunkirk’ To Play In Front Of Select ‘Rogue One’ Showings

Disney is releasing Rogue One in 70mm IMAX 2D format in 15 theaters worldwide. For those who are wondering what exactly a 70mm projection (and IMAX 70mm) means, look at this comparison.

We have learnt via /Film that 7 minutes of Nolan’s upcoming war film will be shown at the following theaters. It is not something Chris Nolan has not done before. Back in 2012, the director had done the same thing with The Dark Knight Rises. A prologue (Bane hijacking the CIA plane) was shown to audiences who had attended the IMAX screenings for Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

The following locations in the US will be showing the preview along with Rogue One.

Here’s the Dunkirk announcement trailer in case you missed it.

The cast of the film is packed with talent and boasts of Oscar nominees like Tom Hardy and Kenneth Branagh, recent Oscar winner Mark Rylance and the very talented Cillian Murphy. The film also stars Aneurin Barnard, James D’Arcy, Jack Lowden,Barry Keoghan, Tom Glynn-Carney, and One Direction band member Harry Styles.

Dunkirk will open in theatres on July 21, 2017.
