‘Rogue One’ Featurette Details Use Of Practical Effects In Creating Creatures

Rogue One is a mere 10 days away from its worldwide release and its getting difficult to contain the excitement. The anthology film follows the band of rebels who stole the plans to the original Death Star in Episode 4 a.k.a. A New Hope.

One of the very important aspects J.J. Abrams stressed on when making Episode 7 was the use of practical effects over digital whenever possible. The prequels have a reputation for over-relying on the digital effects which pushed them further away from the look of the prequels. Abrams was hailed in his effort of using practical effects like animatronics and guys in suits. Gareth Edwards is following the same path.

In a new featurette called “Creature” we see the cast and the crew behind the awesome designs of the aliens talk about about the creatures. They also have a space monkey shooting this enormous gun from a plane.

The film stars Felicity Jones, Mads Mikkelsen, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Forest Whitaker, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Riz Ahmed and Alan Tudyk. James Earl Jones is back to voice Vader.
