‘Aquaman’ Release Pushed Back To October 2018, ‘The Batman’ To Take It’s Place?

Warner Bros. has pushed back the release date for Aquaman starring Jason Momoa and Amber Heard. The James Wan directed film was originally planned to release on July 27th, 2018. The new release date is October 5, 2018.

Among the many changing slates we had seen that there were two unannounced projects set to release on October 5, 2018 and November 1, 2019. Now that the 2018 dates are swapped we have more than enough reason to speculate that the July date will be awarded to The Batman which is to be directed by Ben Affleck.

Back in August, Affleck teased us with Deathstroke and it was later confirmed that the mercenary will be the villain in the next Batman film and that he will be played by Joe Manganiello. After this, reports started flooding in that the film will start its production in the Spring of 2017.

But well of course, we cannot say anything for sure until it’s official.

Here’s the updated DC Films’ slate:

  • Wonder Woman – June 2, 2017
  • Justice League – November 17, 2017
  • The Flash – March 16, 2018
  • Untitled Movie – July 27, 2018
  • Aquaman – October 5, 2018
  • Shazam – April 5, 2019
  • Justice League 2 – June 14, 2019
  • Untitled Movie – November 1, 2019
  • Cyborg – April 3, 2020
  • Green Lantern – June 19, 2020
