Paramount has released the second trailer for their upcoming drama Fences. Directed by Denzel Washington himself, the film follows his father character, a former baseball player, as he struggles to raise his family in the 1950s amidst racial tensions.
The film is adapted from August Wilson‘s play. Wilson also wrote the screenplay from the adaptation. Washington and Viola Davis are reprising their roles which won them the Tony Awards. The second trailer is just as powerful, intense and emotional charged as the first one was and contains the dramatic elements of whats made the first trailer great (psst, it’s the monologue). Washington and Davis are both on their A game here and are sure to be contenders for the Best Actor and Actress categories just by the looks of the trailer alone.
Denzel has had a few quiet years now with The Magnificent Seven being his only release after two years. Viola Davis on the other hand has been on a roll with How To Get Away With Murder, a Prime Time Emmy win last year and of course Suicide Squad. Fences could easily be a new high for both the esteemed actors.

The film also stars Stephen Henderson, Jovan Adepo, Russell Hornsby, Mykelti Williamson, and Saniyya Sidney.
