Warner Bros. has released a second trailer for their upcoming King Kong reboot, Kong: Skull Island. The film takes place in the 1970s during and follows a group of researchers who visit an uncharted island for a scientific expedition. Amidst the beauty of nature, they find a hidden world, both beautiful and treacherous. And among the most dangerous things the island has to offer, stands a very familiar 100 foot giant ape.
A few days back in an interview to Entertainment Weekly director Jordan Vogt-Roberts said that his movie won’t be hiding the monster instead he’ll be seen from the very get go, and he’s making good of that promise. The latest trailer wastes no time in giving you a full look at Kong after it gives you a little set up of the film. We then go to Skull Island, where we do not only see Kong, but a host of different giants and meet John C. Reilly‘s character too.
The film takes place in the 70s and the visual style is very much telling the fact. The shots are composed beautifully some of them harkening back to Francis Ford Coppola’s epic war film Apocalypse Now. And the inclusion of Bad Moon Rising at the start of the trailer only enhances the overall experience of the trailer!
