New ‘The Lego Batman Movie’ Trailer Is All Fun And Delight

Warner Bros. has released another trailer (4th counting the long teasers) for The Lego Batman Movie. The Lego Movie spinoff will focus on Batman (duh!) and his multiple incarnations over the years. The creators have said that the film will attempt to answer “Can Batman be ever happy?”.

The latest trailer is easily the most delightful among the bunch. It starts with gags focusing on Batman’s stubborn and loner nature which seems like a long running gag in the film. We then are re-introduced to the Caped Crusader‘s sidekick Robin aka Dick Grayson who is just a little too excited when he finds out about the Batcave (wouldn’t we all be though?).

The new trailer further expands the universe in which the film will be taking place. We get more of The Joker and a hilarious moment with him. Barbara Gordon also seems to have a sizable role in the film. The trailer also teases a little Batman v Superman moment.

The animation is really beautiful, dynamic and colourful. One can only hope that after four trailers the studio doesn’t spoil the film any further.

Robot Chicken director Chris McKay helms the film based on a screenplay by Seth Grahame-Smith, , Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

The film marks the return of Will Arnett as The Caped Crusader along with Michael Cera as Batman’s sidekick Robin, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl/Barbara Gordon, and Zach Galifianakis as The Joker, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred Pennyworth and Mariah Carey as the Mayor of Gotham.

The Lego Batman Movie opens in theaters on  February 10, 2017.

Read the official plot synopsis for the film below:

In the irreverent spirit of fun that made “The LEGO® Movie” a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.
