‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’ Trailer 1 Packs High Amounts of Action

Paramount has released the first full trailer for  xXx: Return of Xander Cage. Vin Diesel is back as the former extreme athlete turned NSA spy who now finds himself amidst a mission that points to a conspiracy exposing the highest level of world governments.

The trailer, just like the teaser boasts off a lot of action, some of it, albeit very goofy. I mean come on, skateboarding over a bus? But there are a lot more promising martial art sequences to look forward to. And it not just the action the trailer boasts of! We get a good look at the full cast. There are some action heavy hitters like Donnie Yen and Tony Jaa. Indian actress Deepika Padukone (who makes her Hollywood debut with this film) gets some good action scenes along with Ruby Rose. And of course, Samuel L. Jackson is in it.

Overall, it looks like a fun 90s-esque action film which is trying to get the Fast and Furious crowds in. The film is being released in January which is considered the dumping ground for bad films. It seems like a good strategy to place the film in that spot as there will be very little competition for the box-office.

Read the plot synopsis for the film :

The third explosive chapter of the blockbuster franchise that redefined the spy thriller finds extreme athlete turned government operative Xander Cage (Vin Diesel) coming out of self-imposed exile and on a collision course with deadly alpha warrior Xiang and his team in a race to recover a sinister and seemingly unstoppable weapon known as Pandora’s Box. Recruiting an all-new group of thrill-seeking cohorts, Xander finds himself enmeshed in a deadly conspiracy that points to collusion at the highest levels of world governments. Packed with the series’ signature deadpan wit and bad-ass attitude, “xXx: THE RETURN OF XANDER CAGE” will raise the bar on extreme action with some of the most mind-blowing stunts to ever be caught on film.
