‘Army Of One’ Trailer : Nic Cage Is Out To Get Osama Bin Laden

Nicolas Cage was once the darling of Hollywood. He had a great start to his career, rocked the mid 90s era, has an Oscar to his name, and was even almost, Superman. However, in the recent years the actor has been in a string of laughably bad and forgettable movies. Bu hey, if you’re gonna do these kind of films, might as well go for the totally bonkers one.

The first trailer for Army of One has been released online. The story, based on a true incident, follows ex-con Gary Faulkner who is has visions from God to capture Osama Bin Laden. Yes, you read that right folks. Nic Cage is on a mission from God to capture one of the most dreaded world terrorist.

It is said that truth is often stranger than fiction. The story didn’t just come out of nowhere (or a session where folks were stoned off their asses), in fact it is based on a true story!

The film is directed Larry Charles, the man behind Borat and The Dictator, so expect to be in for something special and irreverent. Also playing God in the film is none other than British comedian Russell Brand.

Had there been a different combination of talent both in front and behind the camera, the film could easily fall apart, but seeing the combination of Cage and Charles we may be in for something decent at the least.

Here’s the synopsis for the film :

Gary Faulkner (Cage) is an ex-con, unemployed handyman, and modern day Don Quixote who receives a vision from God (Brand) telling him to capture Osama Bin Laden. Armed with only a single sword purchased from a home-shopping network, Gary travels to Pakistan to complete his mission. While on his quest, Gary encounters old friends back home in Colorado, the new friends he makes in Pakistan, the enemies he makes at the CIA – and even God and Osama themselves. Wendi McLendon-Covey, Rainn Wilson, and Paul Scheer also star in this hilarious tale of patriotism and one man’s quest for justice.
