With just a little over a two months to the release date, the second trailer for Assassin’s Creed has been released online. The film is based on the highly successful Ubisoft video game series of the same name. Michael Fassbender stars as Callum Lynch, a man who learns that he us a descendant of a 15th century Spanish swordsman named Aguilar and is a part of a secret society called the Assassins.
The final trailer shows off a lot of new footage. We see more and more of the facility Callum is held in and see him go through the training to become an Assassin. We also get to see more of the awesome action sequences that take place in 15th century Spain. One of the biggest USPs of the film is their insistence on the use of practical effects over CGI, which most modern blockbusters tend to overuse.
When it comes to video games films in general Warcraft wasn’t necessarily what the subgenre needed. Will this finally be the groundbreaking video game movie everyone was waiting for? We’ll find out soon enough.
