‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ Trailer 2: The War Is On

If you are one of those eagerly waiting for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, be ready to get excited. Lucasfilm has released the second (and probably the final) trailer for the anthology film online. For the uninitiated, Rogue One tells the story of the band of rebels who stole the original Death Star’s plans.

While the last trailer mainly was known of Vader’s return to the screen, this one’s got a lot more in the bag. This time, the aim is to establish Felicity Jones‘ character Jyn Erso. The trailer opens up with her and her father (Mads Mikkelsen) who is wanted by the Empire for their devious scheme (Read: Death Star). Once the father – daughter dynamic is established the trailer then switches into action mode justifying its “War Movie” Tag.

And if you wanted even more of Darth Vader, worry not, there is shot of the Sith Lord in full costume just enough to get you excited (in case you weren’t). And also I must say there is this one particular shot of the Death Star floating up in the giant blue sky. Kudos to the director and cinematographer for that beautiful little moment.

Directed by Godzilla (2014) helmer, Gareth Edwards, the film also stars Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Forest Whitaker, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Riz Ahmed and Alan Tudyk.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on December 16, 2016.

Here’s the synopsis for the film:

Following the foundation of the Galactic Empire, a wayward band of Rebel fighters come together to carry out a desperate mission: to steal the plans for the Death Star before it can be used to enforce the Emperor’s rule
