The teaser is just a minute long but plays long enough to leave an impact. The spot begins with Adams playing with her daughter and then proceeds with the story. The shots are beautiful and calming leading you slowly into the the film’s world. Bradford Young‘s lenses compliment the story beautifully.

The film is directed by Denis Villeneuve takes the director’s chair back for this one. It will be interesting to see what the Sicario helmer does with sci-fi material before tackling the much awaited Blade Runner sequel.

Also, just in general it is great to see some more sci-fi dramas coming out other than just superhero films (or Transformers) which dominate the genre. The last few films of this nature Alphonso Cuaron’s Gravity, Ridley Scott’s The Martian and Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar which were all stunning.

And if you loved this little sneak peek, there is a teaser coming out next week August 16th.
