The Lego Batman Movie Trailer: This Batman Is A Lot Of Fun

Life doesn’t give you seatbelts!

Trailers from the live action DC films weren’t exactly the only DC related stuff at Comic Con last week. There were of course, panels and trailers from the CW universe, Batman: The Killing Joke also premiered, but our focus for now will, be entirely on The Lego Batman Movie.

Back in 2014, The Lego Movie had released world wide and became one of the biggest hits of the year, so much so that people were sad when the film wasn’t even nominated at that year’s Oscars. One of the most memorable and fun character that even perhaps eclipsed the lead Emmet, was Batman.

The new trailer for the upcoming Lego movie just like the previous teasers is filled with quick, witty humour that will surely come to define the franchise as it continues to expand. The trailer also gives us the first look at some of the most beloved Batman characters, specifically Robin (Grayson) and The Joker.

Robot Chicken director Chris McKay helms the film based on a screenplay by Seth Grahame-Smith, , Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

The film marks the return of Will Arnett as The Caped Crusader along with Michael Cera as Batman’s sidekick Robin, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl/Barbara Gordon, and Zach Galifianakis as The Joker, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred Pennyworth and Mariah Carey as the Mayor of Gotham.

The Lego Batman Movie opens in theaters on  February 10, 2017.

Read the official plot synopsis for the film below:

In the irreverent spirit of fun that made “The LEGO® Movie” a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.
