Legendary Studios Gonna Catch ‘Em All ?
Yes, the recent Pokemon Go craze has just started and isn’t going to stop anytime soon. And from the looks of it seems like even Hollywood cannot deny its success.
Deadline in an exclusive report stated the Legendary Pictures, the studio behind Warcraft and Godzilla (2014), are moving towards a deal to land the rights to make a live-action film based on the Japanese property. The studio’s interest peaked in the property especially after Pokemon Go had taken the world by storm.
The idea behind a live action Pokemon movie is not exactly new. It’s been doing rounds for a long time but nothing never really materialised. The deal will be a great one for Legendary since all major studios are trying to get the rights to the franchise which is ingrained in pop culture for the past 2 decades. Also, compared to Warcraft this will be an easier sell since pretty much everyone around the world knows these pocket monsters.
