The Weinstein Company has released the official trailer for their upcoming summer release Tulip Fever. The film is an adaptation of Deborah Moggach‘s period romantic novel of the same name. The film is adapted to the big screen based on a screenplay by Tom Stoppard (Shakespeare in Love).
The film is set in 17th century Amsterdam against the backdrop of a booming Tulip trade market. Sophia is a young orphan who is married to an ageing merchant Cornelis. Cornelis commissions a young artist to create a portrait of his young wife but an affair develops between the two. In this story of passion, love and desire will the two lovers come out unscathed? Or will the story end in a tragic ending for both?

The film is directed by Justin Chadwick (Mandela: A Long Walk To Freedom) and stars Academy Award® winners Alicia Vikander and Christoph Waltz along with Spiderman alumni Dana DeHaan. Also starring in supporting roles are Jack O’Connell, Judi Dench, Holliday Grainger, Matthew Morrison, Tom Hollander, Cara Delevingne, and Zach Galifianakis.
Tulip Fever arrives in theaters on July 15, 2016.
