Batman: The Killing Joke (2016) Animated Film – Trailer

Warner Bros. have finally released the official trailer for their upcoming animated feature Batman: The Killing Joke. The film is an adaption of the classic one shot graphic novel by Alan Moore, a writer most well known for such classic series as Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Swamp Thing, Spawn and many more.

The film was first announced at the 2015 San Diego Comic Con with DC Comics animation veteran Bruce Timm slated to produce. Later it was made known that Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill who had voiced Batman and Joker respectively over the years since the 90’s animated series were returning to voice the comic book icons.

The graphic novel is best known to provide an origin and backstory for the Joker. This story became the basis for the Joker’s origin in Tim Burton‘s Batman (1989). The dark and mature tone and nature of the story has led the animation to be rated R by the MPAA.
