Lionsgate has released the teaser trailer for Deepwater Horizon. The film is based on the 2010 oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico on the BP-operated Macondo Prospect. The oil spill has been considered the largest in the petroleum industry which claimed 11 lives.
The film stars Mark Wahlberg in the lead role as a member of the Deep Horizon crew and recounts the heroism of the brave men who helped save lives during the disaster. The trailer is a well cut one. In the teaser Wahlberg spending time with his family which ominously intercuts with impeding disaster about to it the oil rig setting a tone close to that of a horror film.

Peter Berg (Lone Survivor) serves as director for the film which also stars Kate Hudson,Gina Rodriguez, Dylan O’Brien, Kurt Russell, and John Malkovich.
Deepwater Horizon opens in theaters on September 30, 2016.
