20th Century Fox has released the second trailer for their second superhero film of the year X-Men: Apocalypse. The film will further the story from 2014’s X-men: Days of Future Past in the 80’s. The film, according to writer Simon Kinberg will serve as a culmination to the new trilogy of X-men films which started with 2011’s X-men First Class.
The latest trailer gives us a lot more to chew on to. We get a little back story of the primary antagonist Apocalypse, and in the present we see him gathering his followers, the four horsemen – Magneto, Angel, Storm and Psylocke. We also see more of the new X-Men team which features a young Jean Grey, Scott Summers and Nighcrawler and some epic action sequences where the heroes and villains clash.

The film is directed by Bryan Singer making this his fourth entry in the 16 year old franchise. Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign.
