Fresh off the success of the Spielberg political thriller Bridge of Spies, Tom Hanks returns to the big screen with A Hologram for the King. The film is based on Dave Eggers novel of the same name. The film follows Alan Clay, a washed up American businessman who travels to Saudi Arabia to secure the IT contract for a massive new complex being built in the middle of the desert. We see the theme of ‘Culture Collision’ as Clay is baffled by how things work in Saudi Arabia but slowly adapts to them with the help of a doctor and his taxi driver.

The film is directed by Tom Twyker who previously directed Cloud Atlas also starring Hanks and the action thriller The International starring Clive Owen. The film also stars Ben Whishaw, Tom Skerritt, and Sarita Choudhury.
A Hologram for the King hits theaters on April 22, 2016.
